Nokta Magnetar 9000
Professional pulse induction detector for deep gold and relic hunting in extreme terrain. Pre-order now.

Nokta's big leap into the PI segment
With the Magnetar 9000, Nokta is venturing into something new: the company, which most recently caused a stir in the VLF segment with the Legend series and the Score, is presenting its first pulse induction metal detector – and is setting professional standards right from the start.
Why PI instead of VLF?
In heavily mineralised ground, every VLF detector loses depth and stability. PI technology ignores ground effects more reliably and penetrates deeper – particularly important on Australian goldfields, African black soils or salty coastal sites.
Who is it intended for?
The Magnetar 9000 is aimed at experienced detectorists, professional gold prospectors and ambitious relic hunters who work in the most demanding terrain and are looking for a detector that can replace several specialist devices.
The three core technologies
The Magnetar 9000 combines three coordinated technologies that no other detector has offered in this combination before.
Advanced Pulse Induction (PI)
The PI principle transmits short current pulses and evaluates the decay in the ground. Unlike VLF detectors, the technology hardly reacts to ground minerals, salts or hot rocks – the detector remains calm and stable even in extreme terrain.
Active Magnetic Sensor (AMS)
The patented AMS system (patent USD1108984S1) analyses the magnetic properties of a find while the eddy currents decay after the transmit pulse. This allows the Magnetar 9000 to separate ferromagnetic objects (iron) from non-ferrous and precious metals – even at great depth.
Dual-Receiver Coil (DRC)
DRC coil technology uses two separate receive paths. This allows both good depth response on large targets and high sensitivity to small objects such as micro-nuggets. These properties are normally mutually exclusive – with the Magnetar 9000 they complement each other.
“The combination of PI, AMS and DRC enables the Magnetar 9000 to work stably where conventional detectors become unstable or lose considerable performance. For the professional user, this means more usable signals and fewer false alarms.”

Our assessment
Based on the published specifications and Nokta's previous engineering achievements:
As someone who has been out with a detector for more than 30 years: a PI detector with genuine iron separation through AMS is a game changer. Anyone who regularly searches in mineralised ground and knows how frustrating hot rocks or black soils can be will understand what Nokta is bringing to market here. The Magnetar 9000 is not a detector for everyone – but for those who need it, there is currently hardly any comparable alternative at this price.
Pre-order – payment only on dispatch. No fixed delivery date.
