The 12 factory programs explained, plus the most proven community programs from international detecting forums – with exact settings, ready to use.
For anyone just starting out with the Deus 2: use the General program unchanged at first. It offers the best balance of depth, discrimination and smooth running on almost any ground. Fine-tuning only pays off once you have got to know the detector.
Uses low and high frequencies simultaneously. Moisture subtraction reduces false signals on wet ground and over holes. Suitable for all experience levels and works on almost any terrain.
OK Ideal for beginnersFrequency addition up to 40 kHz for maximum sensitivity to all objects. Very effective in mineralised ground when searching for the tiniest finds. Reactivity 2 for clean ground, 3 in disturbed terrain.
++ AdvancedSensitive platform with Full Tone audio and reactivity 3. Each object produces its own tone in proportion to its conductivity – extremely informative. Very effective in iron-infested and mineralised ground.
!! Professionals onlySensitive platform with Pitch audio (Square) and reactivity 3. Fast, confident work in heavily iron-laden and mineralised ground. Popular for woodland searches and Civil War fields.
++ AdvancedOptimised for parks and busy urban areas, up to 24 kHz. A good balance between depth and discrimination. Ideal for coin hunting on sites that have already been searched many times.
OK Ideal for beginnersCombines low and medium frequencies up to 14 kHz for maximum depth on high conductors such as silver coins. Ground stability at 1 for maximum depth, at 2 if you get false signals. Very stable target ID on deep coins.
++ AdvancedLike the classic Deus 1 on a single frequency, but benefits from the extended 4–45 kHz spectrum of the Deus 2 and improved EMI suppression. The first choice if you have interference problems in multi-frequency mode.
OK For all levelsSpecially designed for highly mineralised, gold-bearing ground. Extensively revised with update 3.1 – now detects gold pieces from approx. 0.01 g. All-metal mode for maximum depth. Always carry out a precise ground balance (grabbing).
!! Professionals onlyLow subtracted frequencies for finding large metal masses. All-metal mode with low reactivity for maximum depth. Keep the coil 15–20 cm above the ground to avoid shallow interference signals.
++ AdvancedThree programs for saltwater environments: Diving (most stable), Beach and Beach Sens (most sensitive). Low subtracted frequencies locate rings and coins, while aluminium foil is naturally suppressed.
OK For all levelsDeveloped and refined by experienced detectorists from international forums. All programs have been tested in practice on real sites and have delivered proven results.
The most discussed community program. Based on Fast, it uses targeted double notching to block out aluminium trash and bottle caps – silver coins come through cleanly. Has still found silver in parks that had already been searched many times.
Developed for heavily iron-infested locations such as old homesteads and historic fields. Uses an unusually high discrimination as the tone threshold to better separate iron/non-ferrous pairs. Confirmed on several sites with Walking Liberty halves and quarters.
Custom version of the Relic program for deep hunting of Colonial and Civil War finds. Used after a first pass with General. Documented with coin finds from more than 25 cm deep in farm fields in Virginia and North Carolina.
Confirmed by many experienced US detectorists as the deepest and most stable all-rounder for inland use. No notch, 5 tones, reactivity and sensitivity pushed to the maximum the site allows. Penny/dime targets reached at up to 8 inches (approx. 20 cm) in tests.
According to community tests, the deepest mono mode of all in clean inland ground (especially sandy soil). Used by US detectorists on Colonial and Civil War fields in Virginia and other southern states. Deep silver coins documented at up to 30 cm.
Refined version of the Legacy program with optimised tone breaks. Tone break 3 at 48 lets Saxon coins through the iron noise. Tone break 4 at 60 for Roman bronze. Also confirmed with good results on US farm sites from the 1850s.
Sensi FT as the base, but with high tones raised for higher target IDs. Used in summer on harvested and wheat fields; in winter, switch to General because of moisture subtraction. Particularly productive on freshly ploughed fields.
On heavily iron-infested ground, up to 1–3 inches more depth than the factory program. Better on low conductors than Deep HC. Reactivity and discrimination are adjusted to the specific site. Widely confirmed as an all-round program for iron sites.
Simple and effective: the Park program with all filters at minimum and reactivity as low as possible. The Deus 2 dedicates its entire processing power to signal processing. Instant success with coin finds at 4–7 inches deep confirmed on the very first outing.

Important: All community programs were developed for specific ground, targets and firmware versions – they are a starting point, not a cure-all. Reactivity and sensitivity must always be adapted to the search area in question. Check firmware: At least V2.0, ideally V3.x. Saved programs may be lost after each update – write them down first!
