Evaluation of this book
This excellently researched and illustrated book addresses all topics of interest to explorers. Even experienced explorers will benefit from the wealth of valuable tips (see table of contents).
However, we also recommend it to every beginner as a fantastic starting aid for the wonderful hobby of "probing". The selection of the right metal probe is explained in detail and in a manufacturer-neutral way, because from our daily practice we know very well how difficult it is for beginners to choose the right detector for themselves.
Chapters 13 and 14 provide very important and elementary basic knowledge about possible metal finds and their further treatment. These chapters contain a great deal of specialist knowledge and protect against incorrect handling of the find or even its complete destruction due to ignorance during storage and restoration.
A wonderful book that is great fun to read and gives lots of ideas.
A really good book that covers all the important information about exploring. Reports on finds and experiences with lots of great photos of beautiful finds. Also an enrichment for people who have been in the hobby for a long time, as it explains a lot of things that not everyone knows. Soil mineralization, settings, how this affects the smoothness of the detector and the depth, identifying new search areas, etc. By far the best book on the subject of sounding!
Received on Monday and devoured in a few days, The Metalldetektoren Handbook by Gerd Gesink is a great read for anyone looking to buy a metalldetektoren (like me). There are no questions left unanswered. Highly recommended!
Anyone who comes into the hobby with zero knowledge will enter the field as an advanced player after reading this book.
TOP info book!
