Gold in Switzerland and Liechtenstein"Gold in Switzerland and Liechtenstein" provides a comprehensive overview of the research findings of Markus Schade, who holds a doctorate in geology and geochemistry.

With his geological and geochemical knowledge and experience from gold deposits on four continents of the world, he has collected publicly accessible information on the geology and the gold deposits so far known in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

The tectonic levels of the Alps (Helvetic, Penninic, Eastern Alpine and Southern Alpine) were taken into account. All rocks and mineralizations are evaluated in their geological sequence per geological age with regard to their gold potential. Particular attention is paid to the Verrucano.

The gold deposits have been genetically classified according to the four varieties of solid gold (mountain gold, placer gold, paleo placers and Letten gold). A separate, purely metallogenetic classification of the ore deposits is presented.

The result is an overall model of the origin of gold and the formation of its deposits against the background of plate tectonics and the composition of the respective gold-bearing host rocks. Based on these findings, several hundred new potentially gold-bearing streams and rivers were predicted. The fundamental conclusions for the search for gold deposits in these regions should be of particular interest to geologists.
