When the MI-6 Pinpointer is switched on, the Deus search coil immediately switches to standby and a crosshair appears on the remote control to indicate the distance to the find and simplify pinpointing. If the MI-6 is switched off after the find has been recovered, the Deus search coil switches on again immediately. XP calls this digital shielding. This prevents mutual interference between the pinpointer and detector.
